The only way to be released is to punch it multiple times. But as soon as you are in the Bloodstalker's clutches, you become unable to use any tool. If you can manage the swaying screen, you can kill them with ranged weaponry. When webbed, your vision will become blurry and the screen will begin to sway. They are able to web you off your mount, and once webbed, it will draw you in until you are in range of its blood-sucking spikes. The Bloodstalker is usually encountered by surprise: when it grapples you with its web attack from far away.

This section describes how to fight against the Bloodstalker. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed. Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. The face is armored and bears four compound eyes and a huge, stabbing proboscis for sucking blood. At each shoulder lies a nozzle that shoots out webbing. The abdomen has what appear to be spiracles for breathing, alongside jagged spikes at its end. The entire back is plated with chitinous armor and several strange pillar-like protrusions. All limbs attach to the underside of the body.
While the body is not segmented like an arthropod, it does have an abdomen, main body, and head. The main tubular part of the foot has four small claws and a large retractable spike.
Each of these tentacular legs have a foot with distinct parts.

The six jointless, squid-like legs are very long and tentacular, and are tipped with skin membrane that allows it slow its falling descent. The six mantis-like arms are jointed and possess sharp spikes for grasping prey. The Bloodstalker is a bizarre arthropod that may be most closely compared to a spider, but even that is not very accurate. But by pressing X,, or, it descends underwater to swim. Much like a water strider, the Bloodstalker can skate across surfaces of water. Very rarely, they can be found on the ground, and will wander and attack like any other aggressive creature - though they can still use their web grapple attack when grounded.
